The Sisters of Providence are a founding member of the Wabash Valley Visions and Voices project (WV3). This is a regional digital memory project for West Central Indiana. It is dedicated to the documentation and preservation of the region’s historical and cultural heritage. WV3 is a collaborative effort among the libraries, museums, cultural organizations and community groups of the Wabash Valley. Indiana State University is coordinating this project. It features photos, personal and professional papers, maps, artifacts, manuscripts, yearbooks, oral histories and other audio or video files and makes them available to anyone with Internet access. It is a great resource for educators because it contains primary source material for both teachers and students.
If you are interested in learning more about this project, visit the Wabash Valley Visions and Voices Web site. If you click on “Collections,” you will find the partners in the project. Click on “Sisters of Providence” and then “browse the collection,” and you will note that we have several objects with more being added each week.
This is a wonderful tool for preserving the local history as well as the Congregation’s history. It is another way to make Mother Theodore Guerin known.
