From 10:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., visitors are invited to enjoy Providence Center’s delicious Sunday Brunch at the Woods by Sodexo in O’Shaughnessy Dining Room. The menu features mouth-watering selections, including a breakfast buffet, main entrees, plentiful side dishes and salads, desserts, beverages and more.
Sunday Brunch was voted “Best Brunch” by readers during the Tribune-Star newspaper’s Readers’ Choice survey, while O’Shaughnessy was selected “Best Reception Hall.”
If you haven’t tried Sunday Brunch or experienced the beauty and peacefulness of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Sunday Brunch Live is the perfect opportunity to make your visit memorable.
Danny Wayne, radio personality with The Valley (95.9-FM) radio station based in Terre Haute, will be on hand from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to talk with some of the visitors to Sunday Brunch Live. Who knows? You may be selected to be one of Danny’s guests on the radio!
Be sure and stop by our seventh annual Used Book Sale in the Providence Center Conference Room. Book sale hours during Sunday Brunch Live are 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. (The book sale runs July 31-Aug. 8. Regular hours for the Used Book Sale are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Those are the same hours The Gift Shop observes on a weekly basis.)
The Gift Shop at Providence Center will be open for adults and youngsters to select a variety of merchandise, including official Saint Mother Theodore Guerin items, rosaries, medals, jewelry, clothing, home décor, books, cards, CDs and more. In the Providence Center lobby, there will be an opportunity to sign up for a door prize, all of which will be displayed during the event. Names will be drawn for four door prizes to be given every half hour. The winner gets to select his or her door prize. You must be present to win.
While at the Woods, take advantage of touring our beautiful grounds. Visitors are invited to view the Shrine of Saint Mother Theodore Guerin, foundress of the Sisters of Providence in Indiana and the state’s eighth saint. Her shrine is located in the historic Church of the Immaculate Conception.
Providence Center is home to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Providence, Heritage Museum and Life and Mission Wall, the latter which highlights various ministries of the Sisters of Providence, and the Blessed Sacrament Chapel.
Another popular spot for visitors is the White Violet Center for Eco-Justice, which offers leadership and education in the preservation, restoration and reverent use of all natural resources. During Sunday Brunch Live, adults and children are invited to walk over from Providence Center and see the award-winning alpaca herd. Fiber from the alpacas is available in The Gift Shop.
