This banner with Mother Theodore's image was displayed in front of the Vatican during her beatification in October 1998. The process for Mother Theodore Guerin's Cause began in 1909.

We are proud to share our beloved and honorable foundress Saint Mother Theodore Guerin.

In 1998, the world came to know the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana. In October of that year, Pope John Paul II granted the title of “Blessed” to Mother Theodore, signifying that she is a holy woman worthy of honor and veneration.

On Oct. 15, 2006, Mother Theodore Guerin was recognized as a saint by Pope Benedict XVI in a canonization ceremony at St. Peter's Square in Rome and is now known as Saint Mother Theodore Guerin.

This section of the Web site is devoted to information about Saint Mother Theodore and her path to sainthood. Check the links at the right of this page for more detailed information about the specific events.
