The White Violet Center for Eco-Justice Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program has returned with 20 shares available for the 2010 growing season.
Shareholders can expect to get a variety of seasonal fruits, vegetables, and herbs each week and honey as it becomes available. Share size will feed a small family of 4-6 people, or 2-3 veggie-loving adults.
Shares are $450 for 18 weeks, June-September. (This is the equivalent of $25 of produce each week.) With the addition of White Violet Center's high tunnel, some cool-weather crops may be available for purchase in October depending on weather conditions.
Shareholders can pick up their basket of produce on Wednesday afternoons at White Violet Center for Eco-Justice beginning in June 2010.
Registration deadline is April 5, 2010.
Reasons to support our Community Supported Agriculture program:
- Locally-grown foods are fresher and taste better
- Organic growing methods used in our garden are in the spirit of Saint Mother Theodore Guerin, foundress of the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods
- Establish a vital link between your food, the people who grew it and the land that nourished it
All share holders are asked to commit to this statement:
I understand that by becoming a shareholder of the Community Supported Agriculture initiative, I will share both the rewards and the risks of the growing season along with the other shareholders and the growers. I recognize that there is no guarantee of the exact amount I will receive each week. I agree to comply with all safety measures posted in the distribution area while on the property.
