You might not like the word “work.” To you, work might mean homework, chores or difficult tasks — things that aren’t always so fun! However, work is a very important part of every person’s life. Work is necessary and can bring a sense of fulfillment to the worker. Just think of how great it feels when you finally finish cleaning your room and can look around at the results of your hard work! Unfortunately, many people in the world have to work in degrading jobs in bad conditions or cannot find any job at all.
Dignity of work and rights of workers
Dignity of work means that all workers should be able to work in jobs that are fair, safe and humane. All workers have the right to productive work and safe working conditions as well as to decent and fair wages. People also have the right to organize and to join unions if they want to.
